Our services include the examination, care and treatment of traditional Canadian and European paintings. These consist of historic and contemporary works on canvas, wood and mixed media. Some examples of our most commonly treated mediums are: oils, acrylics, and tempera-- on canvas, wood panels, board and mixed media. We also treat such artifacts as polychrome and plaster sculptures.
Over the years, we have been able to help our clients with a wide range of restoration needs. These include, but are not limited to: torn canvas repair, surface cleaning, blanched or yellowed varnish removal, and consolidation of cupping paint flakes and drying cracks. Consultation with one of our conservators determines the appropriate treatment required for each artwork. Every fine art piece is unique. As such, its restoration treatment must correspond.
Our clients include major museums and art galleries, private collectors, corporate collections and religious institutions; references are available on request.
At Legris Conservation Inc., we are committed to providing our clients with the highest standard in restoration.
